ʯÁñÊÓÆµ State Community College recently became a Certified Recovery Friendly Campus, meaning that the institution as a whole has pledged to prioritize meeting its student population's behavioral health needs. The certification comes from The Tennessee Collegiate Recovery Initiative (TCRI).
The newest ʯÁñÊÓÆµ location is continuing to grow and develop new opportunities through the efforts of recruiters and ʯÁñÊÓÆµ-Sparta's staff. The site reached its highest enrollment in the Fall of 2023 and has several new programs on the horizon.
In November, students from four ʯÁñÊÓÆµ classes participated in the second annual online Undergraduate Research Symposium. These 18 History, English, and Psychology students enrolled in courses that allowed for additional opportunities to apply knowledge learned in the classroom.
ʯÁñÊÓÆµ State Community College is one of 16 schools recently welcomed into a partnership with OpenStax. The organization is a non-profit educational initiative started by Rice University in Texas to provide students with free or low-cost textbooks.
A group from ʯÁñÊÓÆµ State Community College recently attended the District 2 National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) conference. ʯÁñÊÓÆµ entered assets from various marketing campaigns and projects and returned with gold, silver, and bronze awards.
