Consortium Agreement


A Consortium Agreement is a written agreement between eligible schools allowing a student to receive Federal/State aid based on the total number of credits taken at both institutions.

ʯÁñÊÓÆµ as the Home Institution: You must be enrolled at ʯÁñÊÓÆµ State as a certificate or degree-seeking student, and you must be enrolled as a transient student at your other institution – the Host institution.

ʯÁñÊÓÆµ as the Host Institution: You must be enrolled at ʯÁñÊÓÆµ State as a transient student. You must contact the Financial Aid Office at your other institution (the Home institution) to request a Consortium Agreement. ʯÁñÊÓÆµ cannot complete/submit the form to your Home institution until you have satisfied payment for your course(s) at ʯÁñÊÓÆµ via payment in-full.

A new consortium agreement must be completed each semester.

Consortium Agreement Details

Application Procedures for ʯÁñÊÓÆµ as the Home Institution

  • Have a completed and processed on file at ʯÁñÊÓÆµ. 
  • Be admitted to ʯÁñÊÓÆµ as a certificate or degree-seeking student. 
  • Meet with your Student Success Advisor to verify classes from the Host institution will be accepted and satisfy degree requirements at ʯÁñÊÓÆµ. Course(s) at either institution must be within your Course Program of Study (CPoS) to be eligible for financial aid.
  • Contact ʯÁñÊÓÆµâ€™s Financial Aid Department to request a Consortium Agreement Form.
  • Complete and sign the student section of the form. 
  • Submit the form to the Host institution’s financial aid office for their completion and signatures. 
  • Ensure the form is returned to ʯÁñÊÓÆµâ€™s Financial Aid Office for processing.

Consortium Agreement Restrictions:

ʯÁñÊÓÆµ and the host institution reserve the right not to participate in a consortium agreement for any reason. 

Disbursement of Financial Aid:

Financial aid can be disbursed only after the evaluation of credits is accurately determined. You are responsible for arranging for payment at the host institution, including tuition, fees, and books, until funds can be disbursed to you. You must follow regular payment procedures at both institutions to pay your fees and bills by the deadline.

Deadline:

Allow time for the consortium agreement to be processed. It could take up to two weeks for the consortium to be completed by ʯÁñÊÓÆµâ€™s Financial Aid Office after we have received all the needed information from you and the other institution.

Student Requirements: 

  • You must immediately notify ʯÁñÊÓÆµâ€™s Financial Aid Office of any changes in your enrollment status at the Host institution. In the event of non-attendance or withdrawal from any or all classes, you will be responsible for repayment of financial aid received according to applicable federal and institutional regulations. 
  • All Consortium credit hours submitted for consideration must be accepted and satisfy degree requirements at ʯÁñÊÓÆµ. 
  • You are required to send an academic transcript from the Host institution to ʯÁñÊÓÆµâ€™s Admissions Office within 14 days of completion of the term of this agreement. Financial Aid for subsequent enrollment periods will not be released until the transfer of credits can be verified.

Satisfactory Academic Progress: 

  • You must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards to be eligible for federal and/or state aid. 
  • Credits taken at both institutions will be used to determine your SAP as an aid recipient at ʯÁñÊÓÆµ.
